Fear of Water is a powerful rock band based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their influences include Sevendust, Foo Fighters, many of the early 90s grunge bands, and many of today's great hard rock acts. Together, the band has completed two studio albums – ‘Fear of Water’ in 2005 and ‘The Truth In Sand’ in 2007. Both albums were recorded by Vinny Millevolte (Axis Recording Studio / The Exchange Recording Studio) and mastered by Grammy-winning engineer Trevor Sadler (Mastermind Productions). A self-produced acoustic album is in the works as well, slated for a mid-2008 release.
Though existing in many previous forms and incarnations, Fear of Water was officially formed in September 2004 when Chris and Dave Perry returned to their hometown of Milwaukee, WI. Brent Conrad, a lifelong friend, was recruited to contribute his unrivaled talent and devotion to the guitar. Steve Butler, a friend and former band mate, also contributed his guitar talents from 2004 until early 2008 when Steve and the group parted ways. After Steve’s departure Joe Kral, another friend and former collaborator, stepped in to fill Steve's big shoes (both figuratively and literally). Phil Belongia holds down the bottom end on the bass guitar. Discovered through an online advertisement, Phil’s wide-ranging musical influences have added a unique sonic and visual character to Fear of Water’s sound and live show and have proved that not everyone that you meet online is a complete wack job.
Fear of Water has a unique heavy, yet melodic style that caters both to the radio-friendly and harder-edged crowds. The members of Fear of Water have high aspirations and goals with their music and hope to share it with as many people as possible. Please give a listen to a few of our songs - if you're a rock lover, you won't be disappointed.
